A Blood Bank License is a mandatory regulatory approval required for the collection, processing, testing, storage, distribution, and supply of whole human blood and blood components in India.Blood banks play a critical role in ensuring the availability of safe, high-quality blood and blood components for patient care. To obtain a License, the facility must comply with the prescribed regulatory requirements relating to infrastructure, qualified technical personnel, equipment, quality management systems, standard operating procedures, testing facilities, storage conditions, cold chain management, and infection control measures as specified under Schedule F, Part XII-B of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules.
